The Hasaan A. Kirkland Developing Artist Scholarship, which awards a deserving art student with a tangible financial resource that supports the development of their academic and professional career.
The Hasaan A. Kirkland Developing Artist Scholarship is based upon the accumulative evaluation of the following criterion:
• GPA rank on a 4.0 scale
• Completion of a 1000 word essay/presentation (Topic designated by the National Office)
• Declared major in the visual and performing arts
• Achieved 45 hours toward graduation
• Demonstration of a confident level of ability within chosen craft (Portfolio samples must be provided)
*Caveat: All artistic samples submitted for scholarship become property of Psi Rho Alpha National Office and will not be returned. Scholarship opportunities are seasonal and will be announced to its members via the national website. The Hasaan A. Kirkland Developing Artist Scholarship is available for enrolled undergraduate members only. All funds are provided outside of the selected students university or institution, and directly to the student, to support the immediate needs of the student.
